Freedom2014: Turkey internet access

Writer and journalist Kursad Kahramanoglu lives in Bitez in Bodrum in Turkey.

The 62-year-old says that freedom for him is being able to use social media to speak to his friends around the world, but he worries about what the Turkish government's threats to ban certain websites could mean.

"My only reliable source of information is through the internet. If the internet was restricted, my freedom allowing me to be informed no longer exists," he says.

People from around the world have been sharing their paintings, photographs and videos on the theme of freedom as part of the BBC's #freedom2014 season. Find out more here.
