Burundi torture victims reveal what happened to them
The UN Committee on Torture is releasing its findings today on allegations of torture by state agencies in Burundi.
The East African country was plunged into political turmoil in April 2015 after President Pierre Nkurunziza’s controversial bid for re-election.
The UN has since recorded more than 600 cases of torture in Burundi.
One of the victims has been speaking to the BBC.
