Many dead and injured in Taliban attack on Pakistan school

At least 120 people, most of them children, have been killed in a Taliban assault on an army-run school in the Pakistani city of Peshawar, officials say.

They say at least four of the attackers have been killed, but there are reports that one or two of the gunmen remain inside the building, and that some children may still be being held hostage.

A Taliban spokesman said the assault was in response to recent Pakistani army operations.

Paul Adams reports.
