Everest avalanche 'felt like whole glacier was sliding'
A BBC video journalist, Thomas Martienssen, was on Everest covering ceremonies to mark a year since an accident that killed 16 Sherpas.
He was caught up in the avalanches triggered by the earthquake which hit Nepal.
At least 17 climbers and guides have been reported killed, making it the worst single disaster on the world's highest peak.
He spoke to the BBC's Jonathan Head and described the moment the avalanche hit and its aftermath.
