India: At least 12 dead in temple stampede

At least 12 people have been killed and several others injured after a stampede at a Hindu shrine in Indian-administered Kashmir.

Police say it was triggered by an argument between pilgrims at the gates of the shrine.

Tens of thousands of people usually visit the shrine every day, located near the town of Katra.

It is thought there was a peak in visitors because of the holiday season.
