The EU is facing what some call an existential crisis as it struggles with fallout from the debt crisis and widespread voter discontent.
In May the elections to the European Parliament will be a key test.
Eurosceptic parties, like the French National Front (FN) and UK Independence Party (UKIP), are widely expected to do well.
BBC News asked six MEPs to set out their priorities for the 28-nation bloc.
