A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of his partner in Dublin on Saturday afternoon.
Gavin Murphy, 29, from Coultry Drive in Ballymun, is accused of attacking Jennifer Poole, 24, at her home in Melville Drive in Finglas.
The mother-of-two died in hospital.
Blanchardstown District Court heard that one of her children was in the apartment at the time, while the other was with relatives.
Det Sgt Damien Mangan told the court Mr Murphy made no reply when he was charged with murder.
Relatives and friends of the victim were in court for the brief hearing on Monday.
Mr Murphy's solicitor Michael Hennessy said he will have to undergo a 14-day quarantine in custody due to Covid-19 rules before he can apply to the high court for bail.
The defendant was remanded in custody to appear in court again by videolink on Friday.
