Gardaí were called to a house at Whitechapel Grove shortly after 19:30 local time on Tuesday, and shots were fired at them.
The injured gardaí are being treated at Connolly Memorial Hospital for "non life-threatening gun shot wounds".
It is understood they were shot in the leg and arm.
A man in his 40s has been arrested, RTÉ reported.
Trained negotiators and officers from the emergency response unit were called to the scene.

The garda had requested a media blackout for the duration of the incident, but it was later lifted.
