A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a 65-year-old man in Balbriggan, County Dublin, in the Republic of Ireland.
Christopher Hall's body was found at his home in Dún Saithne Green on Wednesday afternoon.
Mr Hall died a "violent death" with significant injuries, gardaí (Irish police) said.
CCTV and door-to-door inquires are continuing, a spokesperson for the Garda added.
Gardaí have appointed a family liaison officer to keep Mr Hall's relatives informed.
"Gardaí will continue to work closely with the community over the coming days as they come to terms with the violent death of their friend and neighbour, Christopher," said the spokesperson.
He appealed to anyone in the Dún Saithne Green area between 20:00 local time on Tuesday and 14:00 on Wednesday to contact Balbriggan Garda Station "whether you believe you saw anything of interest or not".
An appeal was also made for anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage, and who gardaí have not already been in contact with, to come forward.
