McCann suspect arrives for unrelated sex offences trial

Christian Brückner, the prime suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, has arrived in a German court for a trial for unrelated sex offences.

Christian Brückner appeared in the city of Braunschweig facing three allegations of rape and two of sexual abuse, dating back to between 2000 and 2017 in Portugal.

He is currently serving a seven-year jail sentence for rape.

Brückner has never been charged with Madeleine McCann's disappearance, and has denied any involvement.
