Time has run out for anyone wishing to apply to be the next lieutenant governor of Guernsey.
The deadline for applications for the post as the Queen's representative in the Bailiwick ended on Friday.
The job, which has a tax-free salary of £105,000 and usually runs for a five-year term, was advertised last month.
The main duties are diplomatic and ceremonial. The current Lieutenant Governor, Vice Admiral Sir Fabian Malbon, is set to be replaced next May.
For the first time the island's authorities will play a role alongside the UK Government in the appointment of his successor.
