Guernsey's lifeboat, the Spirit of Guernsey, has been hauled out of the water for a day of maintenance.
While the work is undertaken on Wednesday, Alderney's Trent class lifeboat will cover the Guernsey area.
The cleaning and engineering work on that lifeboat, the Henry Heys Duckworth, was carried out on Tuesday.
A team of engineers from the RNLI is in the island to conduct the maintenance checks.
