The number of managers in Guernsey's Health and Social Services Department has been cut after an internal review was carried out.

The main change would be instead of six directors there would be five.

Mark Cooke, chief officer, said those currently in the roles would be invited to apply for the new posts.

He said: "Change is never easy and it will create anxiety and uncertainty for staff in management positions - and for that I can only apologise."

Mr Cooke said the successful candidates would then design a new overall management structure.
