Guernsey Airport was shut for 45 minutes following reports of an unusual smell in the cabin of a plane.

Airport fire crews were scrambled when the smell of burning was reported on the Flybe flight to Southampton which was on the taxiway just after 1015 GMT.

There were no reported injuries and the passengers were taken back to the airport terminal.

Flybe said the "suspected electrical smell" was being investigated. The airport reopened just before 1100 GMT.
