New checks in place for Guernsey driving licences
- Published
Additional ID checks will be introduced for anyone applying for a Guernsey driving licence.
The Environment Department has admitted in the past the checks carried out when people apply for their licences needed to be toughened up.
There will be several ways to prove your identity - including with a passport, or a birth certificate.
The changes will come into effect for all licences issued from 4 April.
The measures will be used for anyone wanting to take out a new or duplicate licence, change details such as home address on an existing licence or exchange an overseas licence for a Guernsey one.
