A faulty transformer at Kings Mills in Guernsey has been blamed for a power cut on Friday night.
The power cut affected large parts of the south and west of the island for about 90 minutes.
Guernsey Electricity said about 5,000 customers were affected and has offered its apologies for the inconvenience.
A spokesperson for the company said engineers had been able to restore power to all the affected areas by about 2300 BST.
