Guernsey builders must warn over parking loss

  • Published

Guernsey contractors will now have to give residents advance notice when parking is going to be lost for longer than a week because of building work.

There has been criticism about some projects lasting longer than expected, causing inconvenience to neighbours.

The Environment Department said from Monday contractors will have to notify residents in writing in advance if work is going to last more than a week.

They will also have to give details of the work and the reason.

If there is a delay in finishing, another letter will have to follow.

The department hopes this will encourage applicants to plan more carefully and consider the impact on people who have lost their spaces.
