Move to delay Guernsey Airport project debate lost

An attempt to delay a decision on the budget for the £80m Guernsey airport runway project has been thrown out by the States.

Deputy John Gollop wanted more information on the cost, environmental and social impact and employment opportunities for local companies.

His motion was lost by a vote of 38-6 after a short debate.

Deputy Roger Domaille was among those who said a delay at this stage would have been pointless.
