Thousand of trees are to be planted in Alderney, in the largest tree-planting session to take place in the Channel Islands.

Schoolchildren from the island and members of the Alderney Wildlife Trust aim to plant 3,600 trees.

The number is double the amount planted in Alderney over the past two years.

The planting is taking place at the Community Woodland site and aims to provide a habitat for wildlife in the area.
