A delegation from Guernsey has travelled to China's Shenzhen stock exchange with the aim of getting Bailiwick companies listed.

Commerce and Employment Minister, Carla McNulty Bauer, and chief executive of Guernsey Finance, Peter Niven, gave a presentation on the Channel Islands Stock Exchange in the southern city.

The trip aimed to open up the idea of listing Guernsey companies in China.

Visits had also been made to the Hong Kong and Singapore stock exchanges.

Shenzhen is one of China's two major stock exchanges, alongside the Shanghai exchange.
