Guernsey to Grenoble route 'more popular'

There has been an increase in interest in a seasonal service between Guernsey and Grenoble despite a drop in the number of flights, Aurigny has said.

The airline is operating the route on Saturdays only from Christmas Eve until 18 February.

Malcolm Coupar, commercial director, said: "At this stage we have sold 12% more seats than last year.

"We expect this service to be a seasonal offering on a long-term basis."

The airline operated the route for four months last season, instead of its usual two months, but found it "a step too far".

The route is targeted at skiers as the French city lies in the Alps close to a number of ski resorts.
