Channel Island phone mast register a 'key objective'

The mobile phone masts being used around Guernsey and Jersey are to be subject to an audit, with the results published in a pan-island register.
The plan is listed as a "key objective" in a three-year strategy, published earlier by the islands' new regulator.
Amending Guernsey's postal law to enable licensing of all operators and reviewing electricity prices in both islands are also planned in 2012.
The regulator also wants Guernsey's new competition law to mirror Jersey's.
John Curran, the executive director of the Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority and director general of Guernsey's Office of Utility Regulation, said he wanted to ensure the law "supports a pan-Channel Island approach to implementation."
He said: "Our priority is to concentrate on issues which matter to local consumers in both islands."
