GSPCA warns over bogus house calls

An animal charity has warned Guernsey residents to be vigilant after reports of fake officers making house calls.

GSPCA said five people in the past week had said charity staff had knocked on their doors at night and threatened to take their animals away.

Emma Trousdale, the charity's welfare officer, said the GSPCA did not visit people's homes late at night and would always show identification.

She advised people to notify police if they received an unannounced visit.
