Guernsey residents receive new guidance on recycling

Guernsey residents have received updated information on the island's recycling facilities.

A new guide has been produced by the Public Services Department, detailing which can items be recycled at which waste facilities around the island.

Scott Ogier, the department's deputy minister, said facilities had changed since the previous guidance was issued.

The latest figures from the Public Services Department show that 46.4% of household waste was recycled in 2011.

Earlier this month the States approved a new waste strategy, which sets a recycling target of 70% by 2025.

The department confirmed that the latest guidance publications cost £10,000.
