Guernsey's population continues to rise

Guernsey's population has risen again, according to new figures released by the Policy Council.
The latest figures, which give the island's population on 31 March 2011, show 62,915 people living in Guernsey, a rise of 484 on the previous year.
Natural increase - the number of births minus the number of deaths - accounted for a rise of 160 people.
The States' Policy and Research Unit said the rest of the 0.8% increase was down to people moving to the island.
It estimated that Guernsey's population would peak at about 70,000 by 2040 before falling steadily from 2050.
