The top prize in the Channel Islands' summer lottery is just £150,000, falling well short of the maximum jackpot of £1m.

The winning ticket, drawn at Jersey's Battle of Flowers, is 1245953 and the second prize of £100,000 is going to ticket 1204447.

One million £2 tickets went on sale across Guernsey and Jersey in June.

A lack of sales has meant organisers announced a jackpot much lower than a possible £1m.

There were also 10 prizes worth £10,000 and 20 prizes of £5,000.

It is the inaugural summer lottery, but an annual Christmas draw has taken place in the islands since 1975.

The organisers said they would be looking into why the ticket sales were so low before deciding on the future of the summer lottery.

Profits from the sales are due to be shared between the States of Guernsey and the Association of Jersey Charities.

People can check their tickets on the States of Jersey website, external.
