Alderney States election 2012: Polls close

Polls have closed after voting to decide who will take up the five vacant positions in the States of Alderney.

Twelve candidates are standing for the positions in the island's government, which is made up of 10 States members and a president.

Out of a population of 2,111, a total of 1,109 islanders have signed up to the electoral roll.

Half of the States member positions are elected every two years as each States member serves for four years.
