GSPCA rescues Seal pup from Jethou, near Guernsey
- Published
A seal pup was rescued from the private island of Jethou after it washed ashore and became stranded.
The GSPCA rescued the animal, since named Jethou Bumblebee, after receiving a call from the island's residents.
An appeal for a boat and crew to assist the charity was made on local radio stations, and the passenger boat Bumblebee offered to help the GSPCA.
The seal was taken to the GSPCA's shelter, and was said to be emaciated but recovering.
