The top prize of £686,000 in the Channel Islands Christmas Lottery has been won by ticket number 1734524.

The annual charity lottery jackpot, which is decided based on ticket sales, was its lowest since 2009.

It follows disappointing sales for the inaugural Channel Islands summer lottery earlier in the year.

Ticket number 1887983 won the £50,000 second prize and 2316152 the £25,000 third prize. The winnings have to be claimed within 12 months of the draw.

The winning numbers for 45 prizes of £500 will be available on the States of Jersey website, external.

The annual lottery has been run since 1975 and money has been donated to charity since 1986.

The proceeds of the lottery are split between Jersey and Guernsey based on the proportion of tickets sales, with the division usually about 60% for Jersey and 40% for Guernsey.

The exact amount of money being given to charities will be announced in January with the funds distributed by the charity associations in Guernsey and Jersey.
