The work would allow further upgrades so that 3D films could be shown

Guernsey's only cinema will be shut for two weeks next month so its projection systems can be updated.

The Mallard DoubleBill Cinema, in the Forest, opened in 1993.

The work will improve the quality of the resolution of the projectors and allow the cinema to get films via download rather than using reels.

David Brown, director of the Mallard Complex, said it could also pave the way for two of its four screens to eventually become 3D.
