Shops in Guernsey are importing fresh milk from Jersey and the UK as an ongoing machinery fault means no local milk is available for sale.

Guernsey Dairy's main processer broke on Monday, so only enough milk to supply health and residential care units has been produced since then.

It has imported UHT milk from Jersey, but some retailers have imported fresh milk from other sources.

A dairy spokesman said work to get the processer fixed was ongoing.
