Unemployment in Guernsey falls to 401

The number of people who are unemployed in Guernsey has fallen, according to figures from the island's Social Security department.

At the end of May there were 401 people unemployed in Guernsey, which was 54 fewer than in April.

However a spokesman for the department said the figure was similar to the same time last year, when it was was 407.

In Alderney, eight people were registered as unemployed at the end of May, down from nine in April.
