Richard De Wit pleads not guilty to Sarah Groves murder

The man accused of murdering Guernsey woman Sarah Groves has told a court in Kashmir he is innocent of the charge.

Dutch national Richard De Wit claimed he was being framed by the state authorities there.

He was arrested on the night Miss Groves was killed and has been held in jail following treatment in a psychiatric hospital.

Mr De Wit told the court he was not schizophrenic but was being poisoned by the Dutch government.

Mr De Wit first appeared in the Court of Session in Srinagar in Kashmir on 15 June, but that hearing was delayed while an interpreter was found.

The court reserved judgement while police investigations continued.

Miss Groves, 24, was found stabbed to death in a houseboat in Srinagar.
