Guernsey bus drivers pay talks delayed by fog

Fog has delayed pay negotiations between drivers and Guernsey's public bus operator CT Plus.

Two days of industrial action by drivers over changes to duty cards were cancelled after last minute talks.

CT Plus and the drivers' union representative were due to meet earlier to discuss the separate issue of wages.

However, both sides were unable to get to the island due to heavy fog and the talks have been rearranged for next week.

Bob Lanning, from the union Unite, said: "The drivers are seeking a cost of living pay rise, I am aware of cost of living in the island and in the mainland, my drivers in Bournemouth are earning more than drivers in Guernsey.

"We are open minded, lets see what the discussions bring."
