Concerns have been raised about reliability of the service and problems with Aurigny's replacement of its trislander planes.

Alderney politicians will have to be consulted before any changes can be made to the price and frequency of flights to and from Guernsey.

Guernsey's commerce and employment department say that agreement will be in place while they work on a long-term review of island air links.

There have been complaints about the link from Alderney residents.

The review will investigate ways the government-owned airline Aurigny can create a more stable service.

The department says that as the Alderney route runs at a loss, with other routes subsidising Alderney flights, a more transparent funding model could be considered.

This could include a public service obligation with a subsidy paid to Aurigny in return for a guaranteed service.
