Job adverts for someone to represent the Queen in Guernsey have been put in local and national newspapers.

The Lieutenant Governor acts on behalf of the monarch in the Bailiwick and it is hoped the new post-holder will be sworn into office in the spring.

The recruitment process started following the death of Air Marshal Peter Walker in September.

The appointment is made by Her Majesty the Queen on the advice of the UK Justice Secretary.

Air Marshal Walker served in the role from 2011 until his death.
