The Executive Director of the Alderney Gambling Control Commission is leaving in January.

Andre Wilsenach has been at the Commission for 14-years where he oversaw the regulation of eGambling on behalf of the States of Alderney.

He joined the Commission in 2002, two years after it was set up having previously served on the South Africa national gambling board.

He will be taking on an academic role in Las Vegas.

Mr Wilsenach said the role at the University of Nevada was an exciting opportunity: "I've been asked to become the executive director of the international centre for gaming regulation.

"The intention with the centre will be to promote international best practice in gaming regulation."

"Given my long-standing relationship with Alderney and with Guernsey, I was extremely sad to leave, but I am proud of its standing and pleased to leave it in good standing", he added.

Lord Richard Faulkner, chairman of the Commission said Mr Wilsenach had left the organisation in excellent shape, ready to face any future challenges.
