Some care services had been withdrawn due to pressures on staffing

Guernsey's community care team has reinstated all its home visits following cut backs due to staff shortage.

In November 2022 some care services were withdrawn due to what Guernsey States described as "intense pressure" on staffing.

It meant 55 people had a reduction in their care at home and seven had their entire care package cancelled.

The States has now confirmed there are no longer any suspended care packages.

A statement from the Health and Social Care committee said previously cancelled provision was back in place and no visits were being cancelled.

A spokesperson said the "demand for community services continues to be very high" and they are "regularly holding recruitment events" to source more staff.

They added: "Despite recruitment challenges we have no suspended care packages.

"All those previously suspended were reinstated and we have not had to cancel any visits.

"The community team delivers on average nearly 35,000 episodes of care each month to between 280 and 300 service users-24 hours a day, 7 days a week."
