Guernsey animal stamps to celebrate 150 years of GSPCA
- Published
Animal stamps are being released to mark a Guernsey charity's 150th anniversary.
The GSPCA rescues animals in distress, provides shelter for strays and is one of the island's oldest charities.
The stamps depict a variety of animals, including a rabbit, grey seal, Senegal parrot and an Atlantic puffin.
Bridget Yabsley, head of philatelic at Guernsey Post, said the charity made "a positive difference in so many ways".
She said: "We are absolutely thrilled to commemorate the GSPCA's 150th anniversary.
"This wonderful organisation is funded entirely through the generosity of the local community and without donations, monthly giving, legacies and their members, the GSPCA wouldn't be able to help the thousands of animals every year that come through its doors."
The stamps will be made available on Wednesday 14 February to coincide with the anniversary.
