Guernsey Ports has appealed for expressions of interest from retailers to fill a shop space at the island's airport.

The operator said the landside store, formerly WHSmith, was being opened up on a four-month lease over the summer.

Guernsey Ports commercial development project manager David Buddery said it was an "exciting opportunity".

Bids must be submitted by 13 May, Guernsey Ports said.

Mr Buddery said about 280,000 passengers travelled through the airport between June and September 2023.

'Prime location'

He said the space, situated in a "prime location", was available for an "immediate start".

"There is lots of potential either for a single business or for multiple 'pop-up' style stall holders," he said.

"The space would be suitable for those with a focus on local products and unique gift ideas."

Mr Buddery said Guernsey Ports was keen to hear from people who can "bring something new" to the airport.
