Extra bin collection timetabled in Isle of Man

An extra bin collection has been timetabled in parts of the Isle of Man after a broken down lorry meant waste remained on the kerbside.
Recycling bins outside homes in Douglas, Onchan and Braddan have not been emptied as scheduled during the week and were left on the kerb.
Douglas council engineer Ian Clague admitted there were "short-term difficulties" with the service.
A collection was being made in Birch Hill on Saturday to clear the backlog.
Mr Clague said the council would try and make up the rest of the collections during the coming week.
He said: "We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank residents for their forbearance while we implement measures to bring a swift resolution to the situation."
