IoM £4m neonatal unit 'on schedule' to open in February

A £4 million intensive care facility for newborn babies on the Isle of Man is on schedule to open in February, it has been confirmed.
The funding was approved by Tynwald as part of the health department's budget plan for 2013 and work began last year.
The multi-million pound facility is being built next to the existing Jane Crookall Maternity Ward on the hospital site in Braddan.
Health minister Howard Quayle said it would be a "facility to be proud of."
Mr Quayle attended a topping out ceremony at the site on Monday and said it was a "major milestone".
According to a health spokesman the current capacity of nine cots will remain, but the new facility will provide additional overnight accommodation for parents, space to improve isolation, resuscitation and privacy, as well as additional room for the storage of vital equipment.
