Tynwald to consider £7.2m mental health facility

A plan to spend £7.2m on a designated mental health facility at Noble's Hospital is to go before Tynwald.

If the scheme gets the go ahead, it would replace the current facility at Grianagh Court on the Noble's campus.

A health spokesman said the current facility has been operated at 100% occupancy for several years and does not meet current or future needs.

The new building would accommodate up to 26 patients, a 30% rise in capacity.

Minister for Health and Social Care, Howard Quayle MHK, said: "It is vital that we continue to invest in our health and social care infrastructure".

The new facility would be based near the hospital in Braddan, adjoining the Rehabilitation and Recovery Unit.
