Walk-in sessions for vulnerable people to receive Covid autumn booster vaccinations and seasonal flu jabs will be held for the next five weeks.

The jabs are being administered at the Chester Street vaccination hub in Douglas and other locations in Peel, Ramsey and Castletown.

Eligible groups include those aged over 65, in clinical risk groups, care home residents, and frontline workers.

The weekday sessions are part of Manx Care's autumn Covid booster campaign.

Regional sessions

Chester Street Vaccination Hub opened for the walk-in sessions on 10 November, with clinics set to be held most weekdays between 10:00 and 15:00 GMT until 15 December.

Flu and Covid jabs will also be available during the same hours at the Western Wellbeing Centre in Peel on 2 December, the Castletown Civic Hall on 16 November and 7 December, and at St Paul's Church Hall in Ramsey on 23 and 30 November.

A spokeswoman for the healthcare provider said the sessions could be affected by staff levels and the number of vaccines in stock, and any changes to the schedule would be publicised.

The sessions can be attended without a booking, and those who are currently aged 64 but will have turned 65 by 31 March next year are also eligible, the Manx Care spokeswoman said.

New arrivals to the island and those who have not previously had a vaccine have been asked to call the 111 hotline before attending so that they can be registered in an internal booking system, she added.
