Passenger ferry crossings between the Isle of Man and Lancashire have been disrupted due to gales over the Irish Sea.

The 19:45 GMT sailing from Douglas to Heysham and the overnight return have both been scrapped, the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company has confirmed.

Daytime sailings of the Manxman had been brought forward by 45 minutes because of the forecasted strong winds.

Thursday morning's crossing remains in doubt, the ferry firm added.
