A Jersey businessman has called for the island to learn from planning mistakes of towns in the UK as St Helier faces significant expansion.

In the next year there are plans for more homes and a new town park.

David Dodge, from the Chamber of Commerce, said planners should analyse other British towns.

He said: "We can learn about the good things they have done and some of the mistakes they have made so we don't repeat them in St Helier."
