St Brelade get Jersey's first public allotments
- Published
Jersey's first public allotments are being created at Les Creux Country Park in St Brelade.
Planning consent has been given to the St Brelade allotment trust under new laws which enable a non-profit making charitable trust to provide the plots.
It is hoped the St Brelade allotments will be the first of several similar developments in the island.
The idea to create a trust came from the late Jersey advocate and former Senator Chris Lakeman.
The St Brelade Allotment Trust will be chaired by Jeff Hathaway.
