A party of 12 people from Jersey is heading to Burkina Faso in West Africa to help a Christian community.

A group of volunteers from the Freedom Church will concentrate on education, health care and faith activities.

Pastor Andrew de Gruchy said members had been twice before when the emphasis was on providing children's facilities, including a playground.

There is also a drive in Jersey to raise money to help sponsor children. The group heads out on 28 February.
