Jersey Police change custody arrangement

The States of Jersey police is changing the way it deals with people who have been arrested.
The new Criminal Justice Department will oversee supervising detainees, victim and witness care and working with other agencies.
At the moment the custody unit is run by the response department, which reacts to 999 calls.
Having a dedicated team responsible for custody will free up the response officers for their main duties.
