There is a record number of entries for Sunday's 2011 Standard Chartered Jersey Marathon.

Organisers say 513 people have signed up for the 26.2 mile race, with more than half of the entrants coming from outside the island.

There are also nearly 270 relay teams, and more than 300 fun runners.

Extra supplies of water are being provided this year, but organisers also need massage therapists to help runners after they cross the line.

Andrew Thomas, the race director said: "They're crucial in normal years but given the weather forecast and temperatures this year we do still need some therapists on the line, we do normally look for four to five but we currently have one."

There is full coverage of the Jersey Marathon from 08:45 BST on Sunday on BBC Radio Jersey.
